Teksouth adds query analysis to EntelliCache, giving companies ability to "deep dive" into historical data

Cognos Forum, Orlando, May 14, 2007 — Teksouth Corporation (www.teksouth.com), a veteran provider of data management and analysis systems, today announced additional functionality to EntelliCache™, the firm’s software-based query accelerant, giving data analysts the ability to rapidly gain greater insight from multiple query sets than ever before through in-depth ad hoc analysis.

Teksouth made the announcement at the start of Cognos Forum, being held this week here in Orlando. Teksouth is an exhibitor at the Forum (booth #47).

When added to EntelliCache, the query analysis software being introduced today allows companies seeking rapid business intelligence answers to:

  • Define and load historic query sets using multiple filters;
  • Perform in-depth analysis of historic query sets;
  • Construct multiple models or “what if” scenarios to identify the most optimal data caches;
  • Identify multiple levels of aggregations quickly and easily; and
  • Custom import capability to examine query sets generated separately from EntelliCache.

“The ability to ‘deep dive’ into terabytes of data in a short period of time is critical for companies that need to research that information to make more informed decisions that give them an advantage in the marketplace,” said Brad Marshall, Teksouth’s Director of Commercial Products. “Time is of the essence in cases like this. EntelliCache has always provided analysts with the capability to get answers to the questions they want, instead of having to rely on pre-formed queries. Now, they can get the answers utilizing a far more complete data set. This means better results and better ability to act on those results.”

Introduced last year, EntelliCache is designed to improve ad hoc query performance an enterprise data warehouse. This allows to search the data exactly as they want, rather than having to depend on more conventional pre-formed queries. It does this by using a Teksouth-designed system to route approximately 80 percent of all queries to data caches, where information can be retrieved far more quickly than by searching traditional data repositories like star schemas. EntelliCache also allows the cached data to be stored across multiple databases residing on standard hardware, thus reducing companies’ costs, and increasing their return on investment.
